Organic Synthesis & Catalysis
RESEARCH
The efficient creation of structural complexity from simple initial inputs is a primary objective within synthetic chemistry. Our research group is dedicated to pioneering creative and efficient approaches for constructing molecular complexity using readily available chemical feedstock. Specifically, we aim to advance transition metal catalysis and photocatalysis to facilitate innovative methods for producing biologically active molecules and value-added materials, all aligned with the principles of sustainable chemistry. We strive to unravel intricate mechanistic scenarios throughout this pursuit, carefully examining each elementary step as we forge novel catalytic systems. In addition, we aim to offer groundbreaking solutions to access complex natural products in an atom and step economic fashion.
